About the panelists:
Dan Aguirre is a New York native who moved to New England for a degree, a change of scenery, and to pursue a career in photography. At the Art Institute of Boston, Dan learned how to combine his love of photojournalism and portraiture photography which has allowed him to find his true passion: photographing weddings. After years in the business, Dan has had the privilege of meeting many amazing couples, families, and unique individuals who have helped him realize that two things are always true in the world of wedding photography: No two weddings are the same & each one must be treated with the passion and care they deserve.
Darlene DeVita is a native of Charlotte, NC. She earned a BFA degree in Fine-Art Photography, at the Art Institute of Boston (Now, LUCAD – Lesley College of Art and Design). Darlene brings her fine art sensibility to her wedding and commercial work. Between photographing weddings and exploring the fine art world, Darlene shoots portraits in her studio in Chelsea. She is a strong believer in community. Presently, co-manages the Gallery@Spencer Lofts, served as a member of the Chelsea Cultural Council and was a co-founder of CHARCOLL (Chelsea Artists Collaborative). Darlene teaches photography at the Ivy Street School in Brookline and is a leading teaching artist for the Shutterbugs program for the Pablove Foundation (teaching children living with cancer to develop their creative voice through the art of photography). Her fine-art work is exhibited at galleries and restaurants throughout the region.
