Due to popular demand we are opening back up the “Buy a Brick” Program.
Once we have accumulated enough orders we will process a bulk order of engraved bricks to be placed into the Griffin’s walkway that leads to the Griffin Museum’s opens in a new windowWinchester Rotary Terrace. There’s plenty of room and we welcome your tribute inscriptions. More than likely the orders will be processed in Spring 2019.
We anticipated that the terrace will beautify the Shore Road neighborhood. It has. We also saw the terrace as a means to extending our current policy of offering more of our facility to our visitors and the community at large. It has! The terrace has improve the Griffin Museum’s visibility in the community as well as improved the museum’s footprint at water’s edge in tandem to the Conservation Commission’s enhancements around the Judkin’s Pond area on which the Griffin is located. The beautiful brick walkway is at the entrance to the Griffin Museum’s Winchester Rotary Terrace.
The Winchester Rotary gave us half of the money for the project and we raised the money to match their $33,000. The terrace is built and in use. Winchester Rotary also donated furniture and paid to add flower gardens to make the terrace a relaxing place to visit. The Griffin Foundation donated money for the landscaping. Many donors gave generously. We welcome you to enjoy the terrace. You may also purchase a brick and leave an inscription, in honor of someone, in memory of someone, to celebrate an anniversary of some kind. Give a brick as a gift!
The bricks are standard 4 inch by 8 inch red bricks and can hold up to three lines of text. Each line has a maximum of twenty characters (including spaces). So have fun, make a memory all for a good cause. The price is $125 including inscription. Your gift is tax-deductible. Order here.
