We have organizations like the MFA in Boston, but then we’re able to bring in small groups like the new Telephone Museum in Waltham. There really is something for everybody.”
Free Fun Fridays is a summer program that offers visitors free admission to many cultural venues in Massachusetts. One hundred institutions, from art museums to zoos, will join the program. The HighlandStreet Foundation describes Free Fun Fridays: “Our Free Fun Fridays offer visitors no-cost admission to many of the most treasured cultural venues in Massachusetts. This program was created to increase access and enrichment opportunities for children and families throughout Massachusetts during the summer months. Every Friday, from the end of June through the end of August, multiple sites are open for free. We reach out to schools, veterans groups, libraries, seniors centers, and many other community organizations to ensure that everyone knows that they are also welcome.”
Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh said the series is helpful to keep kids busy in summer. “It is very important to keep our children active and productive during the summer months,” Walsh said in a statement provided by the foundation. “Free Fun Fridays are a great opportunity for kids and families in Boston and throughout the Commonwealth to spend time together.”
