Shelf Talkers Griffin Museum Photobook Social Hour

We are excited to see you and celebrate the creativity, magic and obsession we all share. The Photobook!

Join us Friday night May 14th at 6pm Eastern / 3pm Pacific to meet and share one of your favorite photobooks and thoughts about all things photobook.

Bring a snack, a beverage and show us your favorite photobook. We are asking all attendees to photograph one of their favorite photobooks and use it as your virtual background during this community social hour. We will share with each other what one book is that we love and are  inspired by. We call these “Shelf Talkers”. We want to see and hear about the book you want everyone to know about. Ask yourself what book is inspiring you right now or what are you reading that you want people to know about?

In another effort that we will share on social media and in one of our virtual gallery spaces, we are asking you to submit to our call for entry for The Shelfie. A “Shelfie” is a photograph of your photobook book shelves. The example used at the top of this post is an example of a “Shelfie”. Share one of your Shelfies with us. Submit your “Shelfie” bookshelf photo with us with your last name and first name + “Shelfie” in the subject line and your last name and first name as the title of your image and we will feature it on our instagram platforms and in our Virtual Gallery along with your  information. Last day to submit a “Shelfie” is April 18, 2021. You can begin to send now. Forward your “Shelfie” images to crista (at) griffinmuseum (dot) org
