As a public charity, The Griffin Museum is dedicated to elevating the language and art of photography. Through the exhibitions, programs and lectures that we present to our patrons and public, we encourage a broader understanding and appreciation for the visual, emotional and social impact of photography.

The Griffin is pleased to have the Platinum Seal from Guidestar for confidence in our organization.

In the summer of 2023 we invested over $250,000 renovating and upgrading the museum, completing much needed exterior repairs and upgrades, as well as updating our interiors and creating a new space for our Archives and a Resource Library, filled with artist monographs and volumes about the craft and technology of photography.

We aren’t done. We are looking toward the future of photography in all its forms, including installations, digital exhibitions, moving image and assemblage that incorporates photography at its core.
