Description
The Voice of the Woods is the Griffin Museum of Photography’s exhibition that contains excerpts from Beyond Spheres. The exhibition commemorates the 200th anniversary of Thoreau’s birth. In response to Thoreau’s writings and overriding philosophy regarding timeless man’s relationship with nature, these photographs are an answer to the question What if Thoreau had been a photographer?” Beyond Spheres follows in the tracks of Thoreau and utilizes the hand-made photographic processes available in the first quarter to mid 19th century.
