Edie Bresler is keenly interested in the ambiguity that accompanies ideas about faithful reproductions in photography. They call upon a myriad of photographic approaches to interrogate differences between representation, suggestion and meaning. Bresler is an inspiring educator, speaker and writer. In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions, they often collaborate with local arts organizations such as the Boston Center for the Arts and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, to produce unique local arts actions.

A recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council fellowship in Photography, Bresler also received a NY Foundation for the Arts grant, a Berkshire Taconic Artist Resource grant, multiple visual artist fellowships from the Somerville Arts Council and several Faculty Research grants from Simmons University where Bresler was on faculty from 2000-2024. Bresler’s projects have been featured on Good Morning America, PBS Greater Boston, in Photograph Magazine, Lenscratch, Slate, Esquire, Photo District News, Business Insider and many others. Bresler is proud to have works in collections at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Danforth Museum, Polaroid Corporation and numerous private collections.
