We are excited to introduce you to our Juried Members Exhibition award winners, Liam Jåger and Anastasia Sierra. Our online program On Seeing is a monthly conversation bringing together members of the Griffin community to share their work, ideas and creativity with a broader audience. We are thrilled to bring together these artists who have unique perspectives on creativity and the world they inhabit.

About Liam Jager – Liam Hayes, aka Liam Jäger, is an award winning photojournalist, writer and filmmaker based out of Los Angeles, CA and Berlin, Germany. A multi-disciplinary artist, Liam works with portraiture and self portraiture in painting and photography as well as video art. He travels the globe, photographing strangers and loved ones along that way. Since his first job as a 15-year-old bag boy in Southeast Texas, Liam has worked as a vegan baker, burrito maker, background actor, PATRIOT Missile operator, sign spinner, short order cook and a juicer at Muscle Beach among other professions. His vast experiences are embedded into the characters in his screenplays, short stories and self portraits. If you can’t get ahold of him he’s most likely running in the woods with the spirit of his blue-heeler/beagle, Jäger.

About Anastasia Sierra – Anastasia Sierra (b.1983) is a Russian-American portrait and fine art photographer currently living and working in Cambridge, MA. She started her photography career in portraiture and fashion and now divides her time between fine art photography projects and commissions.
Anastasia’s work explores the themes of motherhood, womanhood and relationships. She uses light, color and texture to create vivid and intimate images that inhabit the space between the real and the ideal. She creates an imaginary aesthetic which provides a sense of escape, while still capturing the beauty and fragility of everyday life. Anastasia graduated from the Center for Digital Imaging Arts (Boston University) and has attended classes at ICP, School of Visual Arts and MassArt.
Her work has been featured on the Curated Fridge, the Luupe and PhotoVogue.
Commercial and editorial clients and features include San Francisco Chronicle, NPR, Nob Hill Gazette, Dartmouth College, Simmons College, Stanford University, Boston University, Amtrak, Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco.
