Encaustic in Photography Techniques and Demonstration plus Artist Talk with Patricia Scialo (In-Person)

In this presentation you will learn the encaustic (wax) on photography technique through demonstrations including 
hand tinting, application of collage materials, and mounting. In addition, the instructor, Patricia Scialo, will have work examples to view that represent the texture and dimension she creates using wax.
This event will be held in person at the Griffin Museum of Photography as long as covid guidelines at the time allow.

Patricia Scialo is the recipient of the 2020 Julia Margaret Cameron Gala Award, Barcelona, professional section, in three categories: Alternative Processes, Abstract and Children.
Early in her career she received state fellowship grants from New Jersey and New York State Arts Councils in response to her palladium still life series, titled, “Assemblages”.
Using a mixed media approach to the photographic print, her work incorporates hand- made paper, liquid silver, oil, and encaustic.
All sales are final on products purchased through the Griffin Museum. Participant cancellation of a program/lecture/class will result in a full refund only if notice of cancellation is given at least 2 weeks before the date of the event.
